Food Distribution conducted to aid in nutrition
Hamari Pahchan NGO conducts various important events in the city of New Delhi, and has contributed vastly to the cause of empowerment for all via food distribution, education & awareness building, skill building and so on. Since its inception in 2015, Team Hamari Pahchan NGO has been working tirelessly to build a safe and secure future for its supporters in the urban poor of New Delhi and nearby areas. On 7th January in Coolie Camp Hamari Pahchan NGO in collaboration with 2 students Arth and Avni Bhardwaj conducted a Food Distribution Camp for the children aged 9-15 years. In addition to nutritious food, the children were given an educative session on nutrition.
Hunger and undernourishment are social issues that are very pressing in society since a long time. Hamari Pahchan NGO since its inception in 2015 has conducted various food drives and worked tirelessly to achieve the aim of eradicating malnutrition among the backward sections of society. On an average, the malnutrition program runs once in every 2-3 months especially in locations where the poor workers are there. In 2024, on the occasion of our founder sir’s birthday party, packets of sweets were distributed to all.
Before the food distribution, Arth and Avni Bhardwaj conducted an interactive session to educate the children about the importance of nutrition and healthy eating habits. The session included:
- · Discussions on essential nutrients and their benefits.
- · Tips on incorporating nutritious food into daily meals.
- · Fun activities to engage the children and enhance their understanding of healthy eating.
The children were highly receptive and participated enthusiastically in the session. The knowledge shared by Arth and Avni equipped them with a better understanding of how nutrition contributes to overall health and growth.
Food Distribution:
After the educational session, meals (Thaali Curry Rice, Chapati, mixed veg Curry) were distributed to the children. The meals were carefully curated to meet their nutritional needs, ensuring a balanced diet. The children expressed their happiness and gratitude, and their smiles were a testament to the success of the event. The event was effective in that the students, our future, would be able to balance their nutritional needs with sustainable living practices. This event not only provided immediate nourishment to the children but also empowered them with knowledge about nutrition that can have a long-term impact on their health and well-being. It aligns with our broader mission of combating hunger and malnutrition through sustainable initiatives.
Conclusion: The Hunger to Hope food distribution event at Coolie Camp was a significant step toward addressing the nutritional needs of underprivileged children. The positive feedback from the children and their families motivates us to continue our efforts in this direction. Together, we can bring hope and sustenance to many more lives.
